About TAISEN — American Realistic Molding Since 1984
Who We Are
TAISEN is more than a brand. We are a forty-year tradition of American craftsmanship, born in a Las Vegas sculpture studio and refined through decades of relentless innovation in realistic body molding. Founded in 1984 by master sculptor Moking Rodin — who named the brand after the Japanese taisen (大戦/対戦), “the great battle” of intimacy — TAISEN began as an audacious question: What if the ancient art of anatomical casting could be combined with modern material science to create something unprecedented?
That question led to the creation of an entirely new product category — premium adult products cast directly from real human models using proprietary SOFT SKIN™ biomimetic silicone. Today, headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, TAISEN stands as the definitive American name in realistic molding, trusted by customers across North America, Europe, and Australia.
We are not a mass-market manufacturer stamping out generic designs. Every TAISEN product begins with a real human model, captured through our proprietary 1:1 anatomical casting process. Our design team includes medical consultants, material scientists, and master sculptors who collaborate to ensure that every curve, texture, and proportion achieves museum-grade accuracy. This interdisciplinary approach — combining artistic tradition with clinical precision and material engineering — is what separates TAISEN from every competitor in the market.
Our product portfolio spans seven categories: Hip Molds (known across the industry as butt masturbators or life-size butts), Torso Models (sex doll torsos), Strokers (male masturbators), Breast Replicas (breast toys), Leg Replicas (leg and foot fetish toys), Dildos, and Lubricants. Four signature series define our collection: the Brazilian-inspired BUMBUM line, the ultra-realistic RealCast series, the immersive BUMBUM Strokers collection, and the inclusive Pride/Gay Series. Each series reflects a different dimension of human desire, unified by our uncompromising commitment to anatomical accuracy and material excellence.
Our Story in Brief
The TAISEN story begins in the late 1970s, in a modest wax sculpture studio tucked away in Las Vegas. Moking Rodin, a master sculptor trained in classical figurative art, had built a reputation for creating hyper-realistic wax portraits for museums and private collectors. His work attracted clients from around the world — including, fatefully, a Dutch tourist who would inadvertently plant the seed for what would become TAISEN.
The tourist commissioned a life-size doll in the likeness of a Las Vegas casino dealer — a woman he had fallen for and could not forget. Rodin took the commission further than anyone expected: he rendered the figure with complete anatomical realism, intimate details included, and the client was astonished by the result. The project had pushed Rodin’s casting technique beyond anything he had attempted before — capturing not just a face or a hand, but the complete complexity of human anatomy with absolute fidelity. When the commission was complete, Rodin recognized that he had developed a methodology with applications far beyond fine art. In 1984, he founded TAISEN and began adapting his sculptural casting techniques for a new purpose.
The transition from wax to silicone was not simple. Wax, for all its visual realism, is brittle and impractical for functional products. Silicone offered durability and flexibility, but achieving the right tactile properties — that elusive quality of feeling indistinguishable from human skin — required years of experimentation. By the early 1990s, TAISEN had developed its first-generation SOFT SKIN™ formula, a breakthrough that established the brand as the pioneer of realistic adult products.
The move to Colorado Springs in the 2000s marked a new chapter. The city’s blend of outdoor lifestyle culture, thriving arts community, and access to material science talent made it the ideal headquarters for a brand committed to both craftsmanship and innovation. Today, our Colorado Springs facility houses our design studio, quality control laboratory, and customer care team — all operating under one roof to ensure that every product bearing the TAISEN name meets our exacting standards.
What Makes TAISEN Different
Real Human Casting vs. Sculpted Approximations
The adult product industry is filled with products that claim to be “realistic.” But there is a fundamental difference between sculpted realism and cast realism. A sculpted product is an artist’s interpretation of anatomy — shaped by hand or machine based on reference photos and imagination. Even the most skilled sculptor cannot replicate the microscopic irregularities, subtle asymmetries, and organic complexity of an actual human body.
TAISEN products are different. Every product in our collection begins with a real human model who undergoes our proprietary 1:1 anatomical casting process. We capture not just the overall shape, but the fine surface textures, pore detail, and tissue density variations that make each body unique. The result is not an approximation of reality — it is reality, preserved in premium silicone with museum-grade fidelity.
This distinction matters. When customers choose TAISEN, they are not buying a designer’s idea of what a body should look like. They are experiencing the genuine anatomy of a real person, captured at the peak of its natural form.
SOFT SKIN™ vs. Competitor Materials
While competitors rely on generic TPE or standard silicone formulations, TAISEN has invested decades in developing our proprietary SOFT SKIN™ biomimetic materials. The original SOFT SKIN™ formulation — a TPE-silicone composite — was refined through a co-development partnership with DuPont, one of America’s most respected material science companies. The current third-generation formula, SOFT SKIN™ 3.0 biomimetic silicone, was developed in-house by the TAISEN laboratory and debuts in our RealCast series.
SOFT SKIN™ 3.0 is engineered to replicate the mechanical properties of human skin — its elasticity, thermal response, surface friction, and compressibility. Unlike competitor materials that leach oil, develop odor over time, or degrade within months, SOFT SKIN™ 3.0 is formulated for zero oil bleed, zero odor retention, and multi-year durability. The material is hypoallergenic, non-porous, and free from phthalates, latex, and volatile organic compounds.
The TAISEN laboratory’s benchmark is simple: most silicone products feel like a silicone product. SOFT SKIN™ 3.0 feels like a person.
Our Commitment to Safety
Safety is not a feature we add to our products. It is built into every molecule of the materials we use and every step of our production process.
All TAISEN products are manufactured using body-safe proprietary SOFT SKIN™ materials that meet or exceed three major international safety standards:
FDA Compliance: Our materials meet 21 CFR 177.2600, the FDA standard for food-contact silicone. This means our products are made from the same grade of silicone trusted for baby products and food storage — materials that have been proven safe for prolonged skin contact.
CE Certification: Every TAISEN product carries the CE mark, confirming compliance with European health, safety, and environmental protection standards. This certification allows unrestricted sale throughout the European Union and signals that our products have undergone rigorous third-party evaluation.
RoHS Compliance: Our materials are tested for hazardous substances including lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium. All results are N.D. (Not Detected), confirming that TAISEN products contain none of the heavy metals restricted under the EU’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive.
Beyond certifications, we maintain a strict no-phthalate, no-latex policy across our entire product line. Every production batch undergoes quality control testing before release, ensuring that the product you receive meets the same standards as the product we certified.
The TAISEN Promise
Craftsmanship: Every TAISEN product is a work of functional art. We do not compromise on anatomical accuracy, material quality, or finishing detail. If a product does not meet our internal standards, it does not leave our facility.
Discretion: We understand that privacy matters. All orders ship in plain, unmarked packaging with no indication of contents or brand name on the exterior. Billing appears discreetly on your statement. Your business is your business.
Customer Satisfaction: We stand behind every product we make. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, our customer care team — based at our Colorado Springs headquarters — will work with you to make it right. We offer a 30-day warranty on all products and responsive support through email and our social channels.
